Homework provides daily practice and matches what we learned in class that day. It is not graded, but is still important. Homework that is in the folder should take about 10-15 minutes and then you should be spending 15 minutes reading with your child (reading to them, helping them read a book, having them read to someone, etc.). If the homework is not meeting your child's needs, please contact me and we can adjust it.
Homework folders are passed out on Monday and contain the homework for the entire week. It will include a homework check off page, math page, reading/writing page, decodable book, and a blue page. The homework folders are collected every day to pass off blue pages and all homework is due at the end of the week. If you are missing any homework or have lost a page please feel free to contact me and I can get you another copy. Below you will find descriptions of each piece of homework. If you have questions about any of the homework, please contact me.

- Homework Check Off Page: The homework check off page tells you when to complete each piece of homework and includes notes about upcoming events in our class and at our school.
- Math Page: This page is practicing the math skill that was taught in class that day. Directions are located at the bottom of the page.
- Reading/Writing Page: This page practices the letter(s) and the sight word(s) we are working on for the week. It includes handwriting practice, listening for and isolating sounds, and reading sentences with the sight words.
- Decodable Book: This is a single page, folded book that uses the sight word we are learning that week and reviews old sight words.
- Blue Pages: Blue pages are the blue half sheets of paper that are sent home in the homework folder. These pages are a leveled skill practice page that is based on your child's needs and can be passed off at your child's pace. There are 50 blue pages that can be passed off for a prize and they practice the skills we learn throughout kindergarten. Parent volunteers will pass off blue pages with your child at school and you can monitor their progress on the sticker page in your child's homework folder.
